A Little More About Us
SAGE is a membership-supported community of retired and semi-retired people who share great curiosity about the world and a commitment to life-long learning. To help satisfy those needs, our organization offers several classes, structured like small study groups, on a broad mix of subjects over the course of four terms each year. Members of each class select, research, share information, and lead casual, highly interactive discussions on topics related to the class’s overall subject. Extracurricular learning and social opportunities are also available, including a speaker series, interest-based clubs, field trips and a variety of special events.
To establish the roster of courses to be offered each quarter, a volunteer curriculum committee curates a large body of member-proposed topics. Members may then register for as many classes as they wish among the 10 to 20 offered. Each class has a pre-assigned coordinator who performs light administrative functions for the group. The participative learning environment in these small study groups promotes an immersive educational experience that is deeply enriching both intellectually and socially.
SAGE welcomes new members. If you are interested in a community bonded by intellectual curiosity, varied learning experiences and fellowship, we invite you to join us. You can sign up for the year or for an initial trial membership to get a sense of what it’s like to be part of our community.
